GEENA'S BLOG TUES DEC 16TH

Tuesday December 16th
Good Morning everyone! So today’s blog is about “Paralysis by Over-Analysis.” Have any of you ever heard of it? "Paralysis by Over-Analysis" is when we find ourselves trapped in our own decision-making process... stressing ourselves out over the pro's and con's, carefully deliberating on the best options, and trying to be sure to make the "right" decision. Whether you know it or not most of us do suffer from "Paralysis by Over-Analysis" at some point in our lives. Some of the questions we ask ourselves are Do I need a new job? Should I go back to school? Or maybe work a few years to save up money? Would I like to move to a new city? Do I want to stay in this relationship? Is it ok to spend this much money on this? Since none of these have a "right" or "wrong" answer, we can waste a lot of time trying to make our decision. We always want to do (or have) the best, so when we're not sure of what that is, paralysis sets in. In paralysis we've temporarily lost our ability to make choices. We end up just "doing what we've been doing" as a default and become even more frustrated with ourselves and unhappy with our situation. And that's the last thing you want!

Here are some tips that might help you in your next "Paralysis by Over-Analysis" moment:

Make a decision, and then make it the right one. (Whatever you decide, go with it entirely. Don't look back or second-guess yourself.)

If you make a decision to do something now, you can always make another decision later to change something if it's not working. (This way you're making a decision now, with the option of making another decision later... 2 decisions vs. indecision!)

Right or wrong, do it at 100%. (Even if you screw up, do it at 100%. People will see your courage and respect you for trying.)

Go easy on yourself if you do make a mistake. The world goes on and hopefully you've learned something from it. (According to Jack Welsh, its how you recover from the mistake that's important!)

I believe that a few bad decisions are part of learning, and any decision is better than no decision. (As seen on www.overachievercoach.blogspot.com)

Have a good day everyone.

Birthday 2008

I can honestly say this years birthday was the bestest out of all my adult years.I received the best birthday presents both through making memories and material gifts. As far as material things my best friend Ben got me a PINK handheld navigation thing that I can carry every where so no more getting lost, then my other best friend 0f 11 years Ryan got me a ticket to RENT the broadway musical in March!!! Can it get any better than that?? Well.. it can... this past weekend my friends Jeff, Dominique, Angeli, me, and Ben (all pictured above minus Angeli) went to Lake Tahoe. That was the best gift ever the fact that they all spent their time (and money) to join me on this trip. I wanted to do something different. I thought Lake Tahoe was perfect because it's naturie and gave us all that chance to get away from the city life and away from our hectic lives and busy schedules. We were able to enjoy the beauty of nature by going site seeing. The first day was spent riding the gondolas (in Lake Tahoe they are sky rides) that take you to the top of heavenly mountain. We saw the awesome view. It was picture perfect and looked like we were looking at post cards. Dom saw snow for the first and we all realized its pretty to look at, but we cant live in it for a long time as well as the cold. We checked out the Lake Tahoe night life as well. The 2nd night we went more site seeing driving around the Lake and went on mini hikes too. Angeli cooked dinner for all of us that night and sure was yummy. We played San Diegoopoly and Jeff conquered the city of San Diego because I think it was because he played Monopoly way too much. As far as food we ate at the Harrah's Buffet the morning after we got there and at night fine dined on steak and lobster, and chocolate souffle at the Ciera Steak house in Montbleu. There's a lot of pictures to come though most will be downloaded to my myspace. They say action speaks louder than words which is very true. This blog is short and sweet because I'll let the pictures do all the speaking... they will be here shortly when my friends e-mail them to me :).A huge thank you to everyone who was part of my birthday. It was an awesome birthday.. this has been an awesome year .... too blessed to be stressed :)

December 1

Today I turned 27 and so far so good. It's unfortunate that I had to spend today at an LA conference for work from today until Thursday but at the same time I was fortunate to celebrate this weekend with both friends and family. Spent the Thanksgiving weekend at my Aunt Edna's house and was joined by my grandparents and cousin. Over the weekend got to do some after Thanksgiving shopping at the Lake Elsinore outlets followed by more eating! This weekend was full of good meals. Ate at an all you can eat Korean Restaurant. I wish I could remember the name of the place because it was excellent.. excellent food, service.. all around awesome! Sunday spent the time at another good restaurant for some dim sum at Jasmine... good stuff. Im really looking forward to the continuation of my birthday. Tomorrow going out with Jonah for dinner since he lives here in LA but this weekend going to LAKE TAHOE!!! Short and sweet.. thats it for now.
